The Answer Engine
Google And ChatGPT Are Answering
Your Buyers' Questions. With Someone Else's Website.
Your buyers are asking. They are getting answers. The answers are built on somebody else's pages, and the person who asked ends up on somebody else's list.
Twelve weeks to make your website the thing that answers them, and keeps them. Built in the order the evidence supports, which is not the order the industry sells.
What I Found Testing This On Myself
I Ran It Seventeen Times Before I Sold It Once.
The going pitch in this industry is that if you rewrite your paragraphs into clean, quotable, answer-shaped passages, AI assistants will start citing you. I believed it enough to build a measurement rig and point it at my own websites every week.
It did not hold. Here is the part most people would leave off a sales page.
question maps tracked
Run weekly across my own portfolio, with control groups, since July. Not a case study borrowed from a conference talk.
map that ever moved
And it does not count. Its control moved too, which is exactly the platform drift a control exists to catch, and its treatment was an indexing fix rather than a rewrite.
before, and after
My own pet transport site. Fifteen sub-questions, zero citations at baseline, zero citations fifteen days after the pages were reshaped. Three separate re-reads, same answer.
average position of the reshaped page
Indexed, crawled after the change, carrying a real cited regulation and a first-person story. Sitting on page six. That is the whole finding.
The Conclusion
Order Is The Whole Game.
The clearest run was my own pet transport site. Fifteen sub-questions, zero citations before. I reshaped the pages, shipped them, and confirmed with Google's own inspection tool that all four pages were indexed and had been crawled after the change. So there was no hiding behind “the robots have not seen it yet.”
Fifteen days later: still zero. Three separate re-reads, all zero. Meanwhile the reshaped flagship page was sitting at an average position of sixty-one, on page six, while the same site's homepage ranked at position five.
A perfectly shaped answer on a page nobody retrieves is a perfectly shaped answer nobody reads. Eligibility first. Shape second. In that order, or the second one is wasted money.
That is what The Answer Engine is built around, and it is why weeks three to eight start with the unglamorous work of making pages retrievable before anyone writes a word of new copy. Stated at the strength the evidence supports: a page at position sixty-one is very unlikely to be retrieved, not certain never to be. I would rather tell you that than round it up.
The Build
Twelve Weeks. Four Phases. Two Verifications.
Week 1. The question harvest.
Search queries you already rank for, the questions competitors answer and you do not, the sub-questions an AI assistant breaks your topic into, your own sales objections, and what people ask in public communities. Ranked by commercial intent and tagged with who answers each one today.
Week 2. Answer architecture.
Questions map to pages, commercial intent first. Pages that compete with each other get merged or retired before anything new is written, because adding pages to a site that already cannibalizes itself makes the problem worse. The capture offer is decided per page, not bolted on at the end.
Weeks 3 to 8. The build.
Eligibility work first: indexing, internal links from pages that already have standing, and the structural reasons a page cannot be retrieved. Then the answer pages themselves, with schema, links into your money pages, and live capture.
Weeks 9 and 12. Verify, twice.
The same question set, re-run against the same measurement. Citations before and after, position movement, and subscribers captured. Two checkpoints, so week nine can still fix what week twelve would only report.
How You Judge It
The Number Is Subscribers.
Not impressions, which flatter. Not rankings, which move on somebody else's schedule. Subscribers, because a person who gave you their email after reading your answer is a person you can reach again without paying anyone for permission.
It also moves inside twelve weeks, which matters. Ranking and citation often will not, and I would rather hand you something real to watch than ask you to wait a year on faith.
What You Get
Everything, On Your Domain.
- ›A ranked question bank in your buyers' own words, not keyword-tool phrasing
- ›A page-by-page answer map, with the cannibalization cleared before anything new ships
- ›Answer pages built, written in your voice, and live on your domain
- ›Schema, llms.txt, and internal links from the pages that already carry weight
- ›A capture offer on every answer page, chosen per page rather than one form repeated site-wide
- ›Two verification reads against the same question set, at week nine and week twelve
- ›The measurement written down honestly, including the parts that did not move
- ›Everything on your domain, in your control, with no ongoing licence to me
The Fit
This Is For You If.
Your buyers research before they decide
Professional services, regulated categories, considered purchases, anything with a long question list before the money moves. If people buy from you on impulse, this is the wrong spend.
You can name the questions you are tired of answering
The ones that come up on every call. That list is the raw material, and you already have it.
You want the list, not just the traffic
The metric here is subscribers. If you only care about a ranking screenshot, we will both be disappointed.
You would rather hear a flat result than a spun one
I publish my own null results. If that reads as a weakness rather than the reason to hire me, we are not a fit.
One Build. One Price.
The Answer Engine
$4,500 CAD
Two installments of $2,250. Twelve weeks. Your domain, your question bank, your list.
No third invoice. The research is week one of the build, not a separate purchase, which means nobody hands you a document and walks away from acting on it.

Optional, And Genuinely Optional.
At week twelve the site is yours and it keeps working without me. If you want the question bank kept current as buyers start asking new things, that is the Visibility Retainer at $999/mo: the question set re-run monthly, four new answer pages with their capture offers, and the same before-and-after proof in the same format.
Three-month minimum, then month to month. The minimum is there because nothing meaningful resolves in thirty days, and a client who leaves at day thirty concludes it failed when it was never given the chance to work.
I do not sell that retainer to anyone who has not done the build. It maintains an Answer Engine. Sold on its own it would mean inheriting a site I did not build and cannot vouch for, which is the oldest trap in this business.

Frequently Asked
What is The Answer Engine?+
A twelve-week build at $4,500 CAD. Week one harvests the real questions your buyers ask. Week two maps those questions to pages and merges or retires the pages that compete with each other. Weeks three to eight ship the answer pages with schema, internal linking to your money pages, and a capture offer on each. Weeks nine and twelve re-run the same question set so you can see what moved and what did not.
Will this get me cited by ChatGPT?+
I will not promise that, because I ran the test on my own properties and could not produce it on demand. Across seventeen tracked question maps, exactly one moved, and that one does not count as evidence: its control group moved too, and its treatment was an indexing fix rather than a rewrite. What I will promise is the sequence that the same data supports, and subscribers, which is a number that moves inside twelve weeks and that you own.
Why is the conversion metric subscribers and not leads or rankings?+
Because subscribers move inside twelve weeks and ranking often does not. A list you own is also the one asset that keeps paying after the engagement ends, and it does not depend on a platform continuing to send you traffic. You get something real to watch while the slower signals build.
What is retrieval eligibility, in plain terms?+
Before an AI assistant can quote your page, it has to pull your page into the small set of sources it considers. A page sitting on the sixth page of search results is very unlikely to be in that set no matter how well the paragraph is written. Eligibility is whether you are in the running at all. Shape is how well you answer once you are. Most of the industry sells the second one and skips the first.
How is this different from a report?+
A report hands you a list and leaves. The research here is week one of a build you already own, not a document you have to find someone else to act on. That also means the question harvest, which is the most valuable part, stays attached to the work instead of becoming a brief for a cheaper writer.
What happens at week nine and week twelve?+
The same question set gets re-run against the same measurement, so the comparison is honest rather than flattering. Week nine exists so there is still time to fix what week twelve would otherwise only report. Almost nobody re-checks their own work, which is exactly why it is worth doing.
What if the measurement comes back flat?+
Then I tell you it came back flat, the same way I am telling you on this page that it came back flat on my own site. You will still have the question bank, the pages, the capture offers, and the subscribers those pages collected. You will not get a reinterpreted number designed to look like a win.
What does it cost and how is it paid?+
$4,500 CAD, split into two installments of $2,250. The first starts the work, the second falls at the midpoint. There is no third invoice and no scope creep clause.
What happens after the twelve weeks?+
Nothing, if you want. The site is yours and it keeps working. If you want the question bank kept current and four new answer pages a month, the Visibility Retainer is $999/mo with a three-month minimum and then month to month. I do not sell that retainer to anyone who has not done the build, because maintaining someone else's broken site is a trap for both of us.
